Who we are: BiblioWorks promotes education and literacy in communities in need. We believe that healthy communities require healthy minds. That's why we have been building libraries, supplying books and training librarians in the poorest communities of Bolivia since 2005.

Type of knowledge or skills needed: Volunteers can work in our office in Sucre, where the role includes accounting, budgeting, grant writing, administration, and more.  Or, volunteers can encourage and promote reading and library use in one of BiblioWorks' rural libraries.

Any further information the volunteer should know? Unlike many non-profit organizations, BiblioWorks does not charge a fee to volunteer. However, you will need to cover your transportation, food and lodging costs. We are happy to help you find your own low-cost accommodation. Bolivia is generally an incredibly inexpensive country.
We also require a time commitment of at least five weeks. For more information please contact us at volunteerbiblioworks(at)
