Who we are: 
Working with and for street children towards a better present and brighter future in a more just, equitable and humane society’ is imprinted as the vision of Jan Vikas Society. The mission of the Society is stated as ‘rescue, redress, rehabilitation through empowerment and self reliance, generated by awareness and achievement, made possible by legal assistance and capacity building, in co-ordination with competent authorities and networking with specialized agencies’.
Type of knowledge or skills needed: 
Educational assistance / tuition, extra curricular activities, vocational trainings and special events require the action of volunteers regularly. Join the staff for organising specific sessions / camps / events (medical camps, legal aid, literacy programmes) or commit yourself to come regularly to help in children’s education (tuition, vocational training) or extra activities (painting, sport, theatre, prevention programmes, etc.). Initiatives are welcomed…
Non-cash donations: 
Material needs include furniture, items required for sleeping, recreational / educational items, food grains, fruits and vegetables, clothes (84 boys from 4-18 years old and 22 girls from 3-14 years old). There are many other ways also in which you can help us. Please contact for more details and specific needs.

Any further information the volunteer should know?: 
The city of 21st century, Navi Mumbai is badly hit by the rapidly growing number of children, boys and girls affected and infected by HIV/ AIDS. No organization has come so far to provide specialized indoor care to this less fortunate children especially the boys.
