Who we are: The Moroccan Children's Trust is a UK registered charity working to achieve sustainable development for young people and their communities in South Morocco. We run a variety of projects with our in-country partner Groupe Maroc Horizons. We help run a community centre that runs a huge range of activity sessions as well as an after-school support program and a pre-school. We offer emotional and practical support to families in the local area and have recently started a new women’s project, providing a safe place for women to come together and discuss issues that concern them.
Type of knowledge or skills needed: We ask that volunteers have a working knowledge of either French or Arabic as very few people in Taroudannt speak any English. We welcome volunteers with a range of skills, as long as they have an enthusiasm for working with children. Some of our volunteers have a specific skill they want to teach to the children whilst others have a background in social work or counselling. Whatever your skill is, if you want to come and volunteer with us we will work out a way to incorporate that skill into our work.
Non-cash donations: We welcome any materials that can be used by the children from books to arts materials to clothing.
