Oaxaca Streetchidren Grassroots (Centro de Esperanza Infantil)

Who we are: Our sole mission is to provide Oaxacan children living in extreme poverty with an education. At our center we provide nutritious meals, medical care, and all support necessary for more than 600 children to attend public school.

Type of knowledge or skills needed: The ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.  Volunteers should have a desire to work with children seeking an education. Possible duties are work in the kitchen, library, clinic, computer lab, office, or other assignment. Volunteers are expected follow the rules of the organization and work a regular schedule as assigned under supervision of the center’s staff.

Non-cash donations: School supplies, e.g. pens, pencils, paper, book bags, etc. Over the counter medical supplies such as bandages, Tylenol, Imodium, Pepto Bismol, books in Spanish or English, toys and games, and dental supplies, e.g. tooth brushes, toothpaste and dental floss.
