Paradigm Initiative Nigeria

What we do: Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) is a social enterprise that addresses the gap between Nigeria’s disadvantaged youth and economic opportunities by providing demand-driven Information and Communication Technologies, entrepreneurship and life skills training. With specific concern about the ill effects of unemployment and cyber-crime among other vices that limit the potential contribution of young Nigerians to the nation’s economy, PIN has worked with government, civil society, private institutions and international organizations including the United Nations to set standards in ICT education, telecenter support, ICT applications in rural areas, and other ICT interventions in Nigeria. PIN’s projects include; Internet Safety, Security and Privacy Initiative for Nigeria and ‘T.E.N.T’ {Techie. Entrepreneurial. Nigerian. Talented}

Other useful information: TENT {Techie, Entrepreneurial, Nigerian, Talented}; a Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) project, seeks to expose today's Nigerian technology students to technical, business and leadership requirements for ICT innovation. PIN commenced hosting TENT Workshops across Nigeria in 2011 in preparation for a multi-day event, the annual TENT Gathering, which holds December 10-12, 2012. Also, a pilot TENT activity in the Computer Science department of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) will feed into the annual event by providing an example of what students can do with technology, especially under supportive conditions.
