Rancho Esperanza

Who we are: Our idyllic beach front hostel combines low-impact, natural living with projects that actively benefit the village. We are a small scale, hands on initiative that relies on the contribution and commitment of both time and resources from volunteers to carry out our community work and aid in our ongoing growth. Our mission is to work with the community of Jiquilillo and surrounding areas to create and support social and environmental community-based programs, while providing a sustainable and positive eco-hostel destination for travelers and volunteers alike.

Type of knowledge or skills needed: We are in need of volunteers who are interested in youth education and outreach, surfing, and eco-tourism to work as teachers assistants, business development coordinators, tour guide trainers, English teachers, or work in our after school program. Basic to advanced Spanish and English skills are necessary for each position.

Volunteers studying or with experience in international development, education, or international business are encouraged to apply.

Non-cash donations: We could use surf gear (boards, leashes, fins, wax, ding repair kits, etc); toys and games for Kids Club (ages 3-15), children's books in Spanish, and English teaching supplies and resources,
