Business Start-up Centre, Monrovia (The Entrepreneurship Centre)

What we do: The Business Start-up Center Monrovia (BSC Monrovia) supports entrepreneurs in Liberia. In this Post-Conflict society we support the Start-up and growth of small and medium sized enterprises so that they in their turn can employ people and contribute to direct Poverty Alleviation. Located at the University of Liberia, from our newly established Entrepreneurship Center, the BSC Monrovia, provides training, inspirational workshops, coaching and mentoring and Business Plan Competitions with access to Finance to young and ambitious entrepreneurs. Already established businesses get support through Business Development Services and Matchmaking with investors. With our support we help start-ups, the growth of business and we inspire innovation so that jobseekers become job creators.

We need volunteers to: We specifically need volunteers for Knowledge Sharing to inspire our young and ambitious entrepreneurs. They would greatly benefit from all the knowledge, ideas, and experiences volunteers can share with them. We would organise the workshop, training or one-on-one session at our fully equipped Entrepreneurship Center. The BSC Monrovia would match the volunteer with the entrepreneurs his or her topic would be beneficial or helpful for. We are absolutely convinced this would support our entrepreneurs tremendously in their strive to become successful and grow.

Non-cash donations needed: For 'Waiting for a Cab' we established a crowd funding initiative where visitors could give a small donation to one of our enterprises they like most, or feel most related to. This could be any amount people feel comfortable with, small is definitely appreciated. And as soon as that hits the threshold of $400,- we will release it to the entrepreneur. This would really help them continue to reach their goals.
Or who knows, maybe some of the visitors actually want to invest in a small company here. For us, the possibilities are numerous and we have all the expertise and know how to facilitate that.
